Conjunctivitis
Inflammation of the eyes. Time between exposure and illness: 1 to 3 days.
Sore, itchy, red, watery eyes. Thick yellow discharge, which may cause eyelids to stick together. See your doctor for treatment.
- Bathe eyes in a sterile saline solution from the chemist or use a cup of cooled boiled water mixed with a pinch salt.
- Avoid bright sunlight.
- Keep child at home until the discharge from eyes has stopped.
